Who I am
My big kid name is Cassandra, but please call me Cassie!
I'm a licensed professional counselor in Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Hawaii, Florida, Washington, Tennessee, and Maryland. I've been curious my whole life why people do what they do, and it's made me into an eclectic, energetic, and expressive therapist. I LOVE conversations, and so I use a lot of visual imagery, similes, comparisons, analogies, metaphors, even meme references to make sure I completely understand your point of view.
My goal with every client is to work myself out of a job; a great therapist is like your fairy godmother: you're given the tools to succeed but have to do the work yourself!
I'm not your stereotypical therapist...
You'll (almost) always see my face
You only lay on a couch if you want to, and I won't sit behind you with a notepad while you ramble for an hour. I don't need to know every memory you've ever had and will only ask about your mother if she's a problem you want to address. Yes, I like cardigans, but they're usually over a t shirt with a silly design or logo!
I bring the hype
I believe the path to successful therapy is in building your self esteem and confidence, so I'm your personal cheerleader! No accomplishment goes uncelebrated, no matter how small. Eventually, my positivity resonates in you so much it becomes yours.
I'm a serious nerd
One of my passions in my work is relating clients' hobbies into their personal growth, and what better examples are there than fictional characters! TV, movies, anime, video games, books, etc. are such great sources of support and reflection, and I love weaving characters and plot lines into sessions to remind you of your own heroic journey.
